Turn Over Your Assets (Web Assets, That Is)
A few years ago I worked with a wonderful branding and design expert who asked me for my “assets”. I was taken aback. What assets is she talking about, I wondered? The only assets I could think of were my personal assets or that I was in a Jason Bourne film being asked to give up my spy assets. Clearly, it was neither of the two, however, I was too embarrassed to show my ignorance. I turned to Google and lo and behold discovered that there is an entire vocabulary used by website designers and service providers that most of us everyday Joes and Janes aren’t aware of. For this blog, I’m going to call it Kajabi Lingo.
I aim to help you master ten common words and phrases used by Kajabians and give you three action items you can take today to elevate the professionalism of your website.

Favicon
A favicon (fa vah con) is a tiny web browser icon that shows in the top-hand left corner of your screen when you type in a web address or at the top of your tab. It’s a great way to extend your branding, gives site visitors confidence that your site is legitimate, and your site will be easy to spot when you have lots of tabs open at the same time. Typically a favicon will contain your primary or secondary logo.
To add your Favicon in Kajabi, go to your Settings → Site Details → Scroll Down to Favicon Image (below your Logo) → Add Image.
Nail the "Above the Fold"
If you’ve got my cheat sheet open, you’ll know that “above the fold” references the top of the screen that someone sees when they first land on your website but before they start scrolling down. Think of it as the upper half of the front page of a newspaper. Imagery + words + a Call to Action are the key ingredients used to draw your visitors in, make them feel like they're in the right place, and encourage them to explore some more. Hey, we can spend countless hours fine-tuning and perfecting a sentence, and I’m not suggesting you do that. Rather, get feedback from customers or friends about the effectiveness of your site’s “above the fold”. Maybe it’s already solid, but if not go ahead and tweak it. Be sure to include a visible Call to Action that encourages visitors to explore a sales page, a contact page, a lead magnet page, or wherever it is you want them to go.
Social Proof
According to Trust Pilot, 90% of consumers read online reviews and 80% trust them as much as they would a personal review. With buyers reading up to ten reviews before making a purchase, it’s clear that client testimonials are critical for online businesses. And that’s what social proof for websites means: testimonials (reviews) from your clients/customers that are posted on your website, social pages, and in emails. If you’re beginning, even one testimonial is better than none and the more the better. Last, don’t forget to post them on social or use them below your signature on emails and newsletters.
